Varun bids Au revoir!

Is it a sort of farewell season ?
I think so. Because I said bye to the firm I was associated with it for quite some time. And many of my freinds doing the same ritual to say an hi to new venture or to a new firm ! Love you December ;). The month where most of my new ideas gets into work !

Now, Varun says bye to Techtree editorial desk.
Techtree is my favorite bookmark on everyday visit list. I loved him not because he was criss crossing the grey market prices but was more informative in letting me know, when 60GB ipod entered grey market than Apple show room in Forum, the best gaming PC console, forethought on hardware price falls ! He was good, precisely,Techtree is good.

When it comes to design [ ah ! what a darn scale to measure the best indian tech portal;) ] I've lot of red flags to raise on the layout and compatible issues of
Techtree and its usability as a everyday tech portal. Well, I don't fall short in consoling myself since most-hits-a-day site slashdot is less appealing contrast to techtree. When content and speed matters techtree beats any desi tech portal for that matter.

Initially, I had a brief artificial hammerage in understanding cess, octroi, levies, customs on my telephone bill, broadband bill, hardware shopping bills and lot more. To add fuel, VAT (so-calld value added crap) also squeazing my money on shopping floors. Varun is right in saying-

"I believe we should be able to spend it the way we want, on what we want, without having to worry about customs, octroi, and a thousand other taxes and levies, especially when it comes to technology products. "

"as many brands choose not to enter India because of the highly bureaucratic process of imports and taxation (compare us to UAE or Dubai...)"
Sad part is that I & we miss Varun on Techtree editorail pages, but he is right in saying-" I'm proud because I know Techtree is strong enough to go on without me". Good connoisseur thought:Show must go on.

Read Varun's farewell message.

Buddy, lost in programming mess ?!

While writing code, lot of issues a programmer needs to keep track of: variables, functions, parameters and their integration with other modules and pages. And as your coding away, you are reminded of other things that you have to do when you are done with the line you are writing.

Most of the times the only place where this information resides is in my brain and it will take me a good time to pick up where I left off just a few days ago.

I know that there is sophisticated project management software that will keep track of all tasks, but I have found this very simple to-do-list application that will do exactly what I need. Keep track of my programming to do list for a particular project in a simple manner. The data is stored in an XML file, so you could have it online and have oher developers access it as well. No installation required, just a standalone executable.

Anyways, you can find it here:

I could stay awake just to hear u breathing !

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Every moment spent with you
Is a moment I treasure

Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing

Laying close to you
Feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together
I just wanna stay with you
In this moment forever, forever and ever

I don't wanna miss one smile
I don't wanna miss one kiss
I just wanna be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just wanna hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time

Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep, yeah
I don't wanna miss a thing...

Ah ! what a lovely thought.

My read for the season.

When Vikas gave me this ebook, I thought it's just one more addition to my piled-up-not-even-touched books in PC. After long span, I took a long off from my daily routine of 'office-work-home' deliberately. since I had a week full of free time could able to finish up this in one stretch. I think it's better than all previous asparatore books on business skills and ideologies. It makes the effective mark in simple and strategic business thoughts and elaboration of the same. Done better knowledge transfer on cash flow & Captial management in small time ventures.I think, it proves potential, specially entreprenuer ventures floated single handedly.

Understanding the basis for your competitive advantage is important to being successful. A product or service doesn’t necessarily have to be unique, but you have to think of yourself as providing a distinct set of benefits to customers. Even if it’s an advantage that won’t last forever, it has to last long enough to produce significant profits over the cost of your investments.

And one more pick for the seasons read is Robin Sharma's The Saint, the Surfer and the CEO: A Remarkable Story About Living Your Heart's Desires . No wonder, his previous work; saint who sold his ferrari was amazing and most acclaimed work of the time. Between so many personality trait writers, Robin sharma continues to touch the thought process quite effectively with this writeup. I'm halfway through with this paperback edition and might post a precise review soon.
A short excerpt from the book:
"Stand in the curiosity of your life. In surrendering control, you'll create a space for possibilities to enter and treasures to flow"

Drop Down Navigation.

Nothing beats HTML Dog’s Sons of Suckerfish dropdown navigation. It can be argued that it is not as usable as static navigation, but when you need it or it is requested Patrick Griffiths and Dan Webb have a script that is light, simple, valid, and a beautiful combination of CSS and javascript.
