Isn't it strange ?

Isn't it strange how Rs. 20/-seems like such a large amount when you donate it to temple, but such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at place of worship, and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying, but you have no trouble thinking what to talk about with a friend?

Isn't it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the Bible/ Quran / Gita, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games, but they do whatever is possible to sit at the last row in a holy place?

Isn't it strange how we need to know about an event for temple 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can adjust it for other events in the last minute?

Isn't it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others, but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?

Isn't it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers say, but we question the words in the Bible and other holy books?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven, but they don't want to believe, do, or say anything to get there?

Isn't it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are forwarded right away, but when we are going to send messages about God, we think about it twice before we share it with others?

"We are each of us angels with only one wing. And we can only fly while embracing each other.Sharing and Caring endures human life."

From Shimoga...

Good luck Mr. Gorsky !

The following is a copy pasted in some article, so no credits to me. I also don't know the origin and just hope its really true ;)

On July 20th 1969, as commander of Apollo 11 Lunar Module, Neil Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the Moon.
His first words after stepping on the Moon "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" were televised to Earth and heard by millions. But just before he re-entered the Lander, he made the enigmatic remark "good luck Mr. Gorsky." Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet Cosmonaut. However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American Space programs.

Over the years many people questioned Armstrong as to what the "good luck Mr. Gorsky"... statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled. On July 5th 95, in Tampa Bay, Florida, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26 year old question to Armstrong.

This time he finally responded.

Mr. Gorsky had died, so Neil Armstrong felt he could answer the question. In 1938 when he was a kid in a small Midwest town, {Wapakoneta, Ohio} he was playing Baseball with a friend in the backyard. His friend hit the ball, which landed in his neighbour's yard by the bedroom windows. His neighbours were Mr. & Mrs. Gorsky. As he leaned down to pick up the ball, young Armstrong heard Mrs. Gorsky shouting at Mr. Gorsky "sex! You want
sex?! You'll get sex when the kid next door walks on the Moon!"

Wicked Man! Can't resist a quote today. Just for my readers :)

Without music...

"Without music... life would be a mistake" - Friedrich Nietzche
That's true when local buses, corporate vehicles, home PC's, cars, office comps, cell phones, earphones humming FM91 or any music like a rage now a days !

Lot of guys I know've moved
either to DAP or cellphone based gadgets for music thirst. Everyday thousands of DAP*, PMP* & mp3-sticks* are being released worldwide. Though earhpone mp3 music mania is pioneered by Creative, 'The Mac giant' Apple took this into amazing level of music-nirvana with iPod ! Apple made iPod like a cellphone in everyday usage. Till recently, DAPs're constrained to a conventional design with Rio carbon was an exception, though. Rio is out of the market.

Sony recently unveiled new series of mp3 DAPs
in Japan. One of the release with A3000 series is packed with a marvelous design, look & feel. Now a days I chant:
[if design] then [sonyNW-A3000]

This is what I call "A Big bro of all DAP " when it comes to aesthetic design .'Gizmo freaks' calls it: 'Man Without A Face' ! Because: The organic EL display blends seamlessly into the body of the player. There's no extra screen or space for media info display. Whole body acts as a display screen. No wonder. The moment I saw it I am in Fida with this cute gizmo from Sony. It's an amazing gizmo still reigning in Japanese market, & recently doing rounds in global arena.By reviews and forums, I fathom it's a pure deviation design contrast to conventional DAP designs ! The display blends smoothly into the body of the player. Ooof this is what drives me crazy. It reminds me of 'Casio time watch' which made a numerical display on surface of the glass !

Factually, it's a surviving act for Sony in DAP market though they're the masters in PSP segment. Because of proprietary formats and mono marketing Sony lag behind other fast moving brands like Apple, Creative, iRiver & hundreds of DAP's being released in Korea & Japan everyday. Still 80% of the market is ruled by Apple with their iPod series. Apple released much talked about model iPod Nano a week back. Strategic brand marketing is the key behind the popularity of iPod. Even with all these hypo surrounding 'iPod' my choice was 'iRiver H10'. What mattered was sound & clarity, where in iPod lacks heavily. I could call it a nomenclature of my gizmo choices:No to monopoly ! Even after years of cellphone swapping, somehow I could n't go for Nokia. I prefer standing besides next best monopolistic brand like sony Ericsson ;)
I'm Sure these gizmo beauties would take lot of time to get into Indian market floors.Anyways, curious to know the performance & Battery poll of this sony stuff..
Btw,

Cute design !

I am a proud 'back pack freak'. Very frequently I hear good words about this cute stuff from axio-usa.

HYBRID PACK
At 2671 cubic inches, the Hybrid is big in scale and equally big on features and with its semi-rigid foam construction it’ll take whatever you throw at it or in it. Three massive storage compartments provides all the storage space you’ll need for daily or business life, with plenty of space for pens, notepads, cables and keys. Innovative removable 17” laptop sleeve allows you to use the Hybrid as a business pack or remove the sleeve and it turns into a daypack.
Designed specifically for sport, cycling and motorbike riding, the back packs shapely body is designed to slice through wind providing improved airflow over a rider, making it one of the few aerodynamically effective backpacks on the market today. With plenty of generous space for the usuals, the Axio is also designed to accommodate both powerbook and PC laptops, as well as ipods, PDA's and any other electronic devices you can think of in a secure structure. Like all things in life it's the little extras that count and the Axio hard pack delivers with extra pockets, zips, straps and a cool key ring clip.

Oov ! I want one ;)

Ganesha habba & rainy day !

Every Ganesha habba is special for me. I always cherish fond moments of this auspicious day. For me it's a day of home made delicious dishes as well ! It's early in the morning aroma of sweet holige and paayasa is filled in my home (yummy !). TV channels flooded with special programmes & cine interviews. News anchors looking fresh in jasmines & designer clad sarees. Thanx to Ganesha ;) ! It 's a dusky morning and almost suddenly it st
arted raining early in the morning. It's a sort of
unexpected guest. I think, Ganesha pendals & areas where Ganesha idols are worshipped in a public stages will be affected because of this rain.Vehicle traffic seems to be very smooth today because of festive holiday across working segments. Enjoying a nice drizzle and dusky weather standing in the balcony. And noticed this lovely flower in a pot. Took out my z740 cam and snapped this cute rain soaked flower in 'Flower mode'. This scene mode captures true colors in 5 mg.pxls format & absorbs basic(RGB) colors beautifully. Took a printout of the same in Kodak series 5 printer. Print looks marvellous. Quality and sharpness is the key behind series 5 printer. Should appreciate kodak engine and their one touch technology !

As of now, I'm busy converting my flash site into pure css wafered site ! Vanilla look & feel is ruling the prototype. I'm half way through with this cool task. Doing bit of testing before throwing it into index-html shape. Tweaking around with cross browser compatibility, jscript errors handling &
quirks mode issues. Though not tested the code in mozilla, opera or safari, right now finding compatibility problems with IE and FireFox while applying:
margin-left: 20px;( even % )
to the parent 'container' which holds main content. I think, work-around should be in 'browser based style sheet pushing' to get rid of these incompatible vex. I seek advice from cascading guru's out there !

My curiosity is rising like a mercury to get a IE7 stable version. Atleast by now, MS might've patched up all those loop holes of IE to counter spreading wildfirefox. Not even a year, Firefox has seen nearly 6 updates compared to snail updates of IE.
Midst of all these chaos, here's an interesting stuff which conversts IE into Firefox. It's named as: foxie ( FFox+ie !). On testing, this cute techie stuff has increased my IE browsing speed dramatically !

If you're a serious developer aiming to build application
based on mozilla, catch this slide show on 'Rapid Web Development and Testing with Mozilla Firefox'.
